Dorothy, Lola and Roma were awarded with their level 1 certificates in leadership training by the (now former) Major of Croydon during the Asian AGM at Acts House, Union Road, Croydon. The course consisted of various assignments in which they had to complete a portfolio, to be submitted to the OCN, the accrediting body.

When asked what impact the training has had on her tenure at the MOE, Lola Adeyi replied, “I have gained a better understanding of what it takes to be a leader and the various types of leadership such as democratic leadership, authoritarian and laissez-faire leadership. While on the course, I gradually understood that it takes a lot of hard work to be in a leadership¬†position as you are accountable for everything. You have no rest period. Before the course, I knew I had traits of leadership. After completing the course, I found myself in situations that demanded someone to rise up and I used the knowledge learned from the training to deal effectively with the situation.”
